A tomato salad made with homegrown tomatoes is one of my favourite meals. Homegrown tomatoes are delicious on their own, full of flavour and juice, and even better for eating at room temperature.
A simple tomato salad lifts the experience even further. When combined with olive oil, shallots, garlic, and a sprinkling of salt, a tomato salad becomes a treat that I look forward to all year.
If using tomatoes from a shop, use the best you can buy and serve at room temperature.
